Take a tip from the French

One of the things that I loved about the French was their ability to make a very simple meal taste exceptional.  The secret is the quality of the products. For example, I often ordered a meat and cheese tray when visiting France. A few slices of cold meat, a few slices of quality cheese, crackers, or a couple of slices from a Baguette, and you have a great meal. Throw in a smidgen of preserves to spread on your cracker or bread and you have your desert.  When you are not in the mood to drag out the pots and pans, take a tip from the French and try this simple approach to food.

This is my version of a simple meal.  Venison sausage, crackers, smoked Gouda cheese, and Fig Preserves…bon appetit!
